For decades Latin America and the Caribbean have battled the lack of reliable energy supply and suitable waste management practices, whether due to weak socio-economic infrastructure or lack of strong political will.
SI-Energy Holdings INC has found a pathway to offer an integrated answer that addresses both of these problems –– utilizing a technologically enhanced Waste-to-Energy (WtE) solution that is also commercially viable for the region.
Our ambition is to contribute towards a clean and sustainable future for the generations that will supersede us.
SI-Energy Holdings INC, through its subsidiary Streamline Integrated Energy Corp, (SIE) is committed to creating this ideal by developing environmentally conscious, and socially responsible WtE power plants.
For us, it is imperative to understand the climactic effect we impart onto our society, and that is why we’ve embarked on this quest - not only to alleviate the human footprint left behind, but to empower constituents today, and contribute to lessening the socio-economic gap dastardly created; simply by providing a reliable alternative energy resource.
We have started this journey in the province of San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic - the future site of the first and only Power-Enhanced Waste-to-Energy facility of this kind in the region.
With a population just under 300,000 inhabitants, and growing, the city of San Pedro de Macorís generates more waste than what the existing unregulated open dump sites can currently manage. Developing and transforming the future of San Pedro de Macorís’ ever growing community demands for an exponential energy growth opportunity as well.
The Dominican Republic is within the top 5 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean that produce most municipal solid waste (MSW), 95% of which can be converted into electrical energy.
The remaining 5% is comprised of ferric scraps and bottom ash that are themselves recycled and reused. We are proud to say SIE has been able to create the right conditions and formulas to bring this state-of-the art enhanced technology to San Pedro de Macorís –– along with the many additional benefits to dumping and landfills.
Our alternative not only eliminates uncontrolled open dumpsites, which then curbs the environmental pollution especially rampant in a nation dependent on tourism and its accompanying waste, but also ensures the protection of water quality in the surrounding area as open dumpsites oftentimes endanger and pollute local surface and groundwater, leading to increased hazards to the health of the community.
We have worked relentlessly to set forth this state-of-the-art, highly productive and financially feasible facility, which will be instrumental to the socio-economic development of the Dominican Republic and other rising nations in the region.
SIE has worked assiduously to make this a reality by creating a financial model specifically detailed with emerging countries in mind. Additionally, SIE’s WtE facility will utilize a cost-efficient thermodynamic design which in turn enhances the energy performance. This high energy yield offsets the high fees and provides a competitive energy price.
Finally, I work with a dedicated team of professionals and strategic collaborators, all of which are led by their unwavering commitment to society, the persistence to prevail, and the fulfillment of the hard work put into creating a more sustainable environment for all. Driven by our core values in doing what’s right for the people and putting their health, quality of life, development, and environment in the forefront of this initiative, we will continue in our endeavor and commitment for environmental safety and clean energy.
Please feel free to contact me anytime. My door is open to anyone who would like to learn more about SIE, share widely the the innovative and responsible nature of our venture, or join the coalition of allies bringing it forth.
Yours truly,
